Ou left the corporate world and followed his passion for real estate in 2006, earning the Rookie of the Year award for his brokerage and the Des Moines Area Association of Realtors in 2007. In 2010, he was recruited to join RE/MAX Concepts as a New Agent Mentor. In 2011, he became a Managing Partner of the West Des Moines Concepts Office, ultimately growing the office from 11 to 40 agents. In 2016, he became a principal owner of RE/MAX Concepts. Ou and his wife Joy have 4 children and live in West Des Moines.
